Job Title: Marketing and Community Engagement Assistant

Department: Marketing

Reports to: Director of Community Engagement and Public Relations

FLSA Status: Salary Exempt

Employment Status: Full Time | Non-Union

Salary Range: DOE

Job Summary:

The Marketing & Community Engagement Assistant plays a vital role in facilitating the marketing efforts for CityLink by providing essential support in coordinating advertising campaigns and informing the public about CityLink activities. Responsibilities encompass assisting in the seamless execution of marketing initiatives, ensuring effective communication with the community, and contributing to the enhancement of CityLink's visibility and engagement. This role demands a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to fostering meaningful connections with the target audience.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Tracks project progress including calendar updates and Rider's Guide status, as well as other printed marketing materials.
  • Processes mailings for various marketing projects, such as newsletters and calendars.
  • Acts as the writer and editor for the Employee Newsletter.
  • Creates and distributes various printed marketing materials, including flyers, brochures, etc.
  • Drafts press releases and media advisories, distributing them to appropriate media channels.
  • Coordinates requests for donated bus passes.
  • Manages the ordering, organization, storage, and inventory of promotional items.
  • Assists in the setup and operation of booths at community events to promote CityLink.
  • Supports the coordination of special events when required, such as Jerome Lilly Day, Stuff A Bus, etc.
  • Monitors and engages with social media accounts and creates posts for the blog.
  • Participates in committees as required.
  • Performs additional duties of a similar nature or level, including counting money and covering the receptionist area.

Education/Skills:

  • Associate's degree in Marketing or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in marketing or a related field; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in marketing principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with various marketing tools and software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience with social media management is a plus.
  • Previous experience in event coordination or community engagement is advantageous.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities as required. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing may be required, depending on the tasks.
  • Regularly uses hands and fingers to operate computers, keyboards, and other office equipment.
  • Occasionally lifts or moves light objects or event materials.
  • Will need to travel locally to attend meetings, events, or visit clients.

General Working Hours:

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Position requires some flexibility in scheduled working hours.


Travel:

Travel will be required. Must have a valid driver's license.
