Job Description - Marketing Coordinator

The Marketing Coordinator serves a unique role in overseeing both local Middleborough, and Statewide marketing activities in collaboration with the retail and wholesale sales departments for a rapidly growing cannabis company. The successful candidate will have demonstrated aptitude for in person representation of a brand or company, and planning campaigns or initiatives that utilize merchandising and digital, print and social media channels. This role requires excellent organizational skills, creativity, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining brand consistency across all marketing channels. The goal is to bring synergy to promotions through all marketing channels for efficient planning and deployment


Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • INTERNAL PLANNING


    • Collaborate with management in the development of marketing campaigns based on quarterly Company sales & product launch goals.

    • Support event presence in partnership with neighboring "The Grove" private venue activities.

    • Manage external vendor relationships with web agency, graphic designers, e-commerce platform providers, advertisers and other marketing support partners.

    • Oversee, manage & create marketing budget based on existing expense history.

    • Report to management on activities b-weekly.


  • LOCAL EXECUTION


    • Manage and maintain list of local business partners i.e. restaurant/bars, salons, galleries etc. to disseminate local promotional materials in collaboration with retail team.

    • Leverage and build upon retail loyalty program benefits and contacts.

    • Establish, execute and own social media content calendar.

    • Manage weekly promotional email in line with store incentives.

    • Manage and maintain dispensary e-commerce web presence with updated product imagery and descriptions, and work with website agency on SEO strategies.

    • Create merchandising strategies for seasonal/event-related promotions.


  • STATE EXECUTION


    • Manage merchandising and co-marketing presence with licensed dispensary partners in line with Company product promotions.

    • Participate in external networking events and dispensary partner promotions whenever possible.

    • Monitor retail e-commerce website and sales floor presence in partner dispensaries.


  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field preferred.

  • 2–4 years of marketing or communications experience preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.

  • Creative mindset with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Professional interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across departments.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.


Technical Skills



  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Google Workspace

  • Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)

  • Social media management platforms

  • Email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc.)

  • Website content management systems (WordPress or similar)

  • Basic photography and video editing experience preferred

  • Familiarity with Google Analytics and marketing metrics


Preferred Qualifications (Cannabis Industry)



  • Experience in retail, cannabis, or consumer packaged goods (CPG).

  • Knowledge of Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission (CCC) marketing and advertising regulations.

  • Experience developing compliant promotional materials for regulated industries.


Physical Requirements



  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when preparing marketing materials or event supplies.

  • Occasional travel between company locations and community events.

  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for events and promotions.
