Job in a nutshell
To be an integral part of the growth and ongoing success of Berry Bros. & Rudd in the USA. This role will drive marketing activity designed to acquire, retain and develop customers of fine wine and spirits in the region across all channels.
Working in collaboration with the Head Office teams in the UK, you will be responsible for all our communication channels, including strategy, planning and implementation. This role will be responsible for driving traffic to our channels and planning and executing customer activities which enhance our brand and provide considered, creative and effective end-to-end customer journeys. This varied role requires both strategic thinking and a practical, delivery-focused approach. Please note that this position is offered on an at-will basis.
Marketing Manager Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop the annual marketing and communications strategy for Berry Bros. & Rudd in the US, supporting the revenue and customer targets.
- Develop initiatives and events to acquire, retain and convert new customers in line with growth targets. Work closely with Events Coordinator to define & execute events program in line with growth targets.
- Drive relevant traffic to our brand’s digital channels, ensuring an excellent and consistent (on brand) experience
- Drive PR and media coverage to build brand reputation using both global and local messaging. Build relationships with key press contacts, influencers and bloggers
- Evaluate external partnership opportunities to drive brand awareness amongst target customers groups, leveraging social media as a tool to drive reach and amplify messaging
- Manage edm system and maximise tools to support Customer Base Management and increase customer engagement
- Analyse customer insights, consumer trends, market analysis, and marketing best practices to direct marketing strategy and planning
- Produce performance reports for all marketing campaigns assessing these against target ROI and KPIs whilst providing continual feedback to senior stakeholders
- Create, build, and execute promotional materials across social media and email campaigns, including writing offers and producing digital content
- Develop a deep understanding of the local market & of customer needs, allowing for value-added input to help shape the strategic plans for the region.
- Direct budget management responsible for the region’s marketing budget
- Collaborate closely with the UK Marketing and Digital teams, sharing learnings and leveraging experience across the department

What you will bring to the role
Skills, knowledge and behaviours
- Comfortable both setting strategy and being hands on with the delivery of it
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to hit the ground running, pick up existing plans, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proven track record of delivering and executing marketing campaigns that meet brand and commercial objectives
- A team player that can motivate and manage multiple stakeholders to work together to achieve the same goal
- Proven Email Marketing experience, having spent time managing CRM strategy and campaign management – ideally with working experience of email marketing software
- Strong understanding of customer segmentation and techniques to cost-effectively drive customers through the acquisition, conversion, retention funnel
- Experience of Google Analytics, reporting on conversion and return on investment
- Excellent organisational skills, the ability to multi-task, prioritise and problem solve
- Strong copywriting skills
- Ability to think differently, challenge assumptions and bring a fresh approach
- Ability to collaborate with, inspire and motivate other colleagues internally, both within the wider marketing team and across all practice areas.
- Proactive and enthusiastic approach, being ready to get stuck in and pick things up quickly
- Strong interest or previous experience in wine & spirits or luxury sector
