Job Description - Marketing Manager

The Marketing Manager leads the Carlsbad Educational Foundation (CEF) marketing and communications strategy,
overseeing branding, digital communications, earned income marketing, fundraising support, and community
engagement. This exempt leadership position requires excellent project management skills and supervises
marketing initiatives, vendors, and assigned staff while ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget,
and aligned with organizational priorities. All responsibilities must be performed in accordance with city, state,
federal, and Company policy.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing Strategy and Campaigns
Implement marketing strategies and campaigns aligned with CEF's annual marketing plan and organizational priorities.
Manage content calendars and ensure timely delivery of campaigns and communications.
Monitor and report marketing metrics to improve engagement and effectiveness.


Content Development and Communications
Develop and produce newsletters, website content, social media, reports, brochures, email campaigns, and other marketing materials.
Write and distribute news releases and support media relations efforts.
Maintain consistent brand voice, messaging, and visual identity across all platforms.
Support storytelling efforts highlighting program impact.


Digital Marketing
Maintain and update CEF's website, coordinating with external vendors as needed.
Manage and grow social media presence through content creation, scheduling, and overseeing partnership with external marketing partners.
Execute email marketing campaigns, including segmentation, analytics, optimization, and reporting.


Earned Income and Fundraising Support
Support marketing initiatives to achieve enrollment and revenue goals for earned income programs.
Partner with the Director of Philanthropy to develop donor materials, fundraising assets, and campaign messaging.


Brand and Community Engagement
Strengthen and protect the CEF brand across all communications and events.
Coordinate marketing efforts with community partners and Carlsbad Unified School District stakeholders.
Represent the marketing function in internal and community meetings.


Project and Vendor Management
Lead project planning, prioritization, timelines, deliverables, budgets, and cross-functional coordination for multiple concurrent initiatives.
Manage freelancers, agencies, and vendors producing creative assets and campaign materials.
Provide guidance to staff, volunteers, and Board members regarding brand standards and messaging.


Other Duties as Assigned
Other work duties as assigned by management.
