Atomic Coffee Roasters is a second-generation specialty coffee roaster in Peabody, Massachusetts. We roast for a growing wholesale network and a national DTC and subscription business. Our marketing team is small, fast, and ships a lot — coffee launches, campaigns, email, and a brand people come back to.
Position Summary
Atomic's marketing has more ideas than hands. The Marketing Manager is the senior generalist who makes it all ship — owning email end-to-end, most of the copy, the website, and the calendar that keeps every project on time.
The role turns strategy and brand direction into executed, on-time work: it writes to a high bar under the established brand voice system, builds and sends in Klaviyo and Shopify, and keeps the full marketing calendar, its owners, and its deadlines on track. The Marketing Manager partners closely with the Head of Content as a peer; together they cover the channel and production landscape, both reporting to the VP, Marketing & Operations.
Key Responsibilities
Own email end-to-end in Klaviyo — campaign builds, sends, lifecycle flows, segmentation, A/B testing, and ongoing performance — from brief to reporting.
Write the majority of marketing copy across channels — email, website, PDP, campaign, landing pages — to a publish-ready standard within our established brand voice system.
Own website execution in Shopify — content and merchandising edits, PDPs, sale and campaign pages, and landing-page builds.
Run project management across all marketing projects — maintain the marketing calendar, set and hold timelines, assign owners, and keep work moving against launch and campaign deadlines, including deliverables owned by the Head of Content and the VP. The calendar is the source of truth and this role holds everyone to it.
Produce weekly and monthly status reports and track goals and metrics across the marketing portfolio — surface what is on track, what is at risk, and what needs a decision.
Maintain Asana hygiene across marketing and initiate launch projects from the established templates.
Coordinate marketing execution for coffee launches and campaigns — turn briefs and strategy into a running plan with clear owners and dates.
Own ordering of marketing materials (labels, merch, print, materials) and route finalized files to operations, sales, and wholesale.
What You Bring
4–6 years in DTC/e-commerce marketing, with real end-to-end ownership (not assisting).
Hands-on Klaviyo: campaigns, flows, segmentation — you've run a program, not just sent from one.
Comfortable building in Shopify (pages, PDPs, merchandising) without a developer.
A portfolio of published copy you're proud of — you write fast, to a voice, at a publish-ready bar.
You've run a marketing calendar with multiple concurrent launches and held other people to dates.
Organized to a fault; you'd rather over-communicate status than be asked for it.
This role fits someone who wants breadth and ownership over specialization and headcount — you'd rather ship the whole campaign than optimize one channel, and you get as much satisfaction from work landing on time as from the work itself.
Day-to-day & Cadence
A week built around the marketing calendar: copy and email production, website and merchandising builds, and keeping every active project moving against its dates.
Builds and sends email campaigns and maintains the flow library on an ongoing cadence.
Weekly 1:1 with the VP, Marketing & Operations, prepared with own agenda and status.
Weekly and monthly status/metrics reporting across the marketing portfolio.
Ongoing coordination with the Head of Content so channels, campaigns, and launches stay aligned.
Success Measures
Copy ships at a publish-ready standard and rarely comes back for rework; the brand voice is matched with minimal steering.
Email is run end-to-end without escalation — campaigns and flows go out on time, segmentation is sound, and performance is tracked and acted on.
Marketing projects run to plan — owners and dates are clear, status is visible weekly, and launches land on schedule.
Reporting is reliable and current — the VP can read the state of the portfolio without reconstructing it.
Operational work (ordering, file routing) is owned cleanly — no stockouts, no last-minute scrambles, no dropped handoffs to ops, sales, or wholesale.
Compensation & Logistics
Compensation: $75,000–$85,000, depending on experience.
Location: Onsite or hybrid at our Peabody, MA roastery.
Benefits: Health and dental (Atomic covers 50%), paid time off, and free coffee — at work and at home.
How to apply: Apply through the posting. A link to published work or a portfolio is welcome but not required — shortlisted candidates will complete a short paid copy-and-build exercise as part of the interview process.
