Summary:
The Marketing Manager is a strategic leader passionate about driving membership engagement within the oncology community. Reporting directly to the CGO, this individual will oversee the development and execution of marketing strategies aimed at attracting, retaining, and engaging members of the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO) and the Society journals. With a focus on membership-driven initiatives, this role will leverage marketing strategies to achieve organizational goals and foster a sense of community within the oncology field.
Key Responsibilities:
Membership Growth Strategy:
Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to attract new members and retain existing members. Utilize audience insights and business objectives to inform targeted marketing campaigns aimed at driving membership growth.
Engagement Initiatives:
Lead efforts to engage members and increase participation in SSO, Women in Cancer Surgery program, journal activities, annual meetings, online educational initiatives, and special events. Create and implement a year-round strategic plan for all SSO meetings, programs and online education. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop initiatives that enhance member experience and foster a sense of community.
Social Media Strategy:
Develop and execute social media strategies to increase visibility, engage with members, and attract new audiences. Utilize platforms such as LinkedIn, X, Facebook, and Instagram to share relevant content, promote events, and facilitate discussions within the oncology community.
Marketing Planning and Execution:
Oversee and execute marketing efforts across various channels, including social media, website, app, and email marketing. Develop and execute campaigns that promote membership benefits, events, and resources.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Utilize analytics and research insights to measure the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and inform strategic decision-making. Develop processes for delivering research and analytics to stakeholders, facilitating data-driven decision-making.
Go-to-Market Strategy:
Lead the development and execution of go-to-market strategies for membership initiatives, aligning with organizational goals and communicating value to target audiences.
Leadership and Team Management:
Provide collaboration to marketing staff, including selection, development, and allocation of resources. Foster a collaborative work environment that values innovation and creative thinking.
Vendor and Partner Management:
Manage key external partner, vendor, and agency relationships, facilitating effective communication and collaboration on projects related to membership growth and engagement.
