GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
We’re looking for an outgoing, energetic, and sales-driven individual to join our team for the summer! As a Marketing Promotions Associate, you’ll serve as a brand ambassador — engaging with Guests, sharing insider tips, and promoting sales of combination tickets for both the Space Needle & Chihuly Garden and Glass.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide remarkable guest service by anticipating Guests’ needs, connecting with them on a personal level, and transforming their moments with us into experiences that last a lifetime.
- Proactively approach and engage guests on the plaza areas surrounding the Space Needle.
- Promote and sell Space Needle & Chihuly Garden and Glass combination tickets. (Guests purchase tickets at self-service kiosks and on their mobile devices).
- Share fun facts and insider tips about both attractions to create excitement and drive sales.
- Be a friendly and approachable resource for all Guests – answering questions, giving recommendations, and creating lasting impressions.
- Provide daily recaps to Marketing leadership on guest interactions and trends.
- Show initiative to meet and anticipate the needs of our Guests.
- Be flexible to change roles or areas of focus throughout the day to support the team.
- Maintain a positive, professional, and approachable presence at all times.
- Stay up-to-date on marketing initiatives, promotions, programming, and operational updates at the Space Needle & Chihuly Garden and Glass to effectively communicate with Guests and deliver accurate, high-quality information.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards all Space Needle team members and Guests.
- Provide support to other departments when needed or assigned.
- Demonstrate speed of service (the ability to manage heavy traffic in an efficient manner).
- Adhere to company and departmental policies.
- Any other duties assigned by the management team.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Available to work mid-June through mid-August, including weekends and holidays.
- Passionate about Seattle tourism, hospitality, and creating memorable guest experiences.
- Outgoing, energetic, and comfortable initiating conversations with Guests from around the world.
- Engaging personality, friendly attitude, and a team player.
- Proven high guest service skills with the ability to upsell and convert conversations into ticket purchases.
- Guest service, marketing, promotions, or sales experience a plus.
- Ability to stand, walk, and be outdoors for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds.
SHIFTS:
- 4-5 days a week, 7-8 hour shifts, generally between 10AM and 6PM (our busiest time of the day).
- Must be available weekends and holidays.
Full Time, Hourly Position
Hourly Rate: $20.76 - $20.76 / hour
