Founded in 2007, KIPP Kansas City Public Schools began with KIPP Endeavor Academy, serving approximately 31 fifth-grade students. Today, we educate approximately 1,000 students from Pre-K through 12th grade, with our community continuing to expand. Job Description

Communication Management

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive communication plan to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
  • Oversee the creation and distribution of internal and external communication materials, including newsletters, press releases and website content.
  • Serve as the organization's spokesperson, crafting and delivering key messages for various audiences.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Provide leadership and direction to the marketing and communication team.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., People, Schools, and) to ensure integrated marketing and communication efforts.
  • Manage budgets for marketing and communication activities.

Marketing, Strategy & Development

  • Develop and execute strategic marketing plans to achieve organizational goals for fundraising, enrollment, or other advancement initiatives.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify target audiences and develop effective marketing messages.
  • Oversees the creation and management of high-quality marketing materials across various channels (print, digital, social media, etc.)
  • Implement data-driven marketing campaigns to track performance and optimize strategies for, maximum impact.

Recruitment & Outreach

  • In collaboration with the DOO, develop and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies to attract a diverse and qualified student body across all grade levels (Pk-12).
  • Manage and analyze enrollment data to identify areas for improvement and optimize yield (conversation of accepted students to enrolled students).
  • Lead family outreach initiatives, including advertising school events, increasing communication with families, and gathering feedback.
  • Build relationships with feeder schools and community organizations to expand the schools reach.
  • Ensure all family-facing materials are readily available and accessible to the team and families.
  • Host school tours for prospective students and families, showcasing the school's environment and programs.

Enrollment Management

  • In collaboration with the school Operations team, manage the entire student enrollment process from application to completion including yearly re-verification for all grade levels, ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Manage the registration process for new students, including document collection, ensuring a smooth transition into the school.
  • Manage waitlists for grade levels with high application volume and implement a system for notifying families when openings become available.
  • Plan and execute informational and registration sessions and welcome events for new students and families to foster a sense of belonging.

Family & Community Engagement

  • Lead initiatives to cultivate strong family & community relationships, fostering a sense of belonging and driving student retention.
  • Partner with the School Operations team in planning, set up, communication and follow-up for all family/ community events to strengthen family-school connections.
  • Partner with school leaders to create & manage volunteer opportunities that leverage family & community strengths to enrich the school experience.
  • Collaborate with teams to define volunteer needs, engagement pathways and gather family feedback to improve retention strategies.

 

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's preferred)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in student enrollment management or a related field (e.g. admissions)
  • Minimum of 3/5 years of experience in marketing and communication leadership.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing compaigns.
