Essential Responsibilities:

  • Completion of schedules as planned for custom mascot sewing and refurb
  • Communication of needs and issues daily to management, sales and to other production departments as needed
  • Contributing to improvement opportunities in process flow, pricing, margin, and timings
  • Meet and manage team and individual efficiency and utilization goals by meeting or exceeding operational timings and due dates
  • Understanding of stock part management in Epicor in order to provide real time feedback to engineering from actual part counts
  • Mastery of basic Epicor functions like Part Tracker, Job Tracker, PO Trackers, Order Tracker, and Time phase
  • Meet or exceed department housekeeping and lean manufacturing standards 
  • Prompt accurate responses to Sales questions and needs
  • Ensure supplies are maintained at optimum level to complete schedule and control costs
  • Communicate to engineer employee feedback to optimize future jobs

Key Customers:

  • Mascot staff by providing leadership and guidance to safely and efficiently meet area expectations including job specific feedback, ordering materials and supplies, managing staffing schedules
  • Mascot sales by responding to job updates
  • Warehouse is completing inspect/pack operation as instructed and scheduled
  • Mascot Supervisor in addressing issues and elevating where necessary

Key Tasks:

  • Establish and maintain or improve quality standards and schedule attainment
  • Ensure use of safe work practices
  • Identify and eliminate risks within the department
  • Contribute to inventory management
  • Ensure inventoried items are back flushed properly at completion of job operations by following established procedures (i.e. job closing)
  • Determine minimum level of supply items to facilitate the efficient completion of orders; maintain levels through timely communication with purchasing.

  • Setting accurate but challenging standards and consistent adherence to the standards
  • Creating a challenging environment to an educated and talented workforce while driving business success
  • Blending the talent and individuality of custom mascot sewing and refurb team members
  • Communicating with Sales to optimize Olympus’ face to the customer

Requirements

Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversee indirect staff of 10-15 employees

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or fellow team members.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to multitask and be a problem solver.

Other Qualifications: Must have good phone skills and interact well with others. Must have basic computing skills. Must be self-motivated with a positive attitude.  

Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Physical Demands/Work Environment: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   • Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. 
  • Will require climbing of stairs and walking on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. 
  • Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist or lifting as required to move materials throughout the day. 
  • Proper lifting techniques are required. May include lifting up to 50 lbs.

While the performance of this position will require frequent exposure to the manufacturing areas, no personal protective equipment is expected to be required. The primary environment including ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional conditions found in a warehouse.
