Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Massage Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in a variety of massage styles, possess a deep knowledge of human anatomy, provide exceptional massage therapy services tailored to meet the individual needs of our clients, and work well as part of a holistic wellness team. The therapist will be responsible for creating a peaceful and relaxing environment, delivering high-quality therapeutic massages, and ensuring client satisfaction through professional care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of massage techniques such as Swedish, deep tissue, sports, and hot stone massage based on client needs.
- Conduct thorough consultations with clients to understand their massage goals, health concerns, and preferences.
- Create customized treatment plans to address specific issues and promote overall well-being.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including treatment history and any medical conditions or allergies.
- Assist with scheduling, confirming, and managing appointments.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for clients.
- Educate clients about the benefits of massage therapy and how it can improve their health.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and ethical standards.
- Maintain proper sanitation and hygiene of all massage equipment and tools.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new techniques, and best practices.
- Assist with collecting payments for services rendered and promoting packages for repeat business.
- Promote additional services and products available within the practice, when appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Current, valid state licensure and certification in massage therapy.
- Proven experience as a Massage Therapist (minimum 3 years preferred).
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and massage techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of ethics and integrity.
- Ability to tailor services to meet the specific needs of each client.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Physical stamina to perform massage treatments for extended periods.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the day.
- Comfortable working in a therapeutic environment with a focus on the physical well-being of clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional certifications in specialized techniques such as aromatherapy, prenatal massage, or reflexology.
- Experience working in a spa or wellness center environment.
- Knowledge of various massage tools and equipment (e.g., hot stones, aromatherapy oil diffusers).
