PRI is seeking a Material Expediter to support Logistics Management Support Services at the NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center. The Material Expediter will perform shipping, receiving, warehouse, transportation, materials movement, and logistics support activities across multiple work areas and aircraft programs. This position primarily aligns with the Service Contract Act, or SCA, Material Expediter labor category.

Key Responsibilities

• Support one or more contract logistics work areas, including:
  
  
  




• Supply and materials management
  
  
  


• Equipment management
  
  
  


• Property disposal
  
  
  


• Transportation management, including shipping and fleet support
  
  
  


• Mail management
  
  
  




• Perform shipping, receiving, and warehouse support duties.
  
  
  


• Support multiple aircraft programs at NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center.
  
  
  


• Locate and move materials, parts, supplies, and equipment between work areas to expedite operational processes according to established schedules and priorities.
  
  
  


• Review and maintain records, inventory reports, and work orders to identify the types, quantities, and availability of materials required to meet NASA priorities.
  
  
  


• Support freight and transportation operations in accordance with applicable contract requirements, NASA instructions, technical directives, and transportation requirements.
  
  
  


• Use NASA-provided computers, software, and databases to complete assigned duties and maintain required records.
  
  
  


• Become familiar with applicable NASA publications, forms, regulations, and work instructions.
  
  
  


• Maintain accurate documentation for shipping, receiving, inventory, transportation, and material movement transactions.
  
  
  


• Operate, or receive training to operate, non-commercial vehicles and material-handling equipment, including:
  
  
  




• Medium-duty trucks
  
  
  


• Forklifts
  
  
  


• Specialty material-handling equipment
  
  
  




• Perform all duties in accordance with applicable safety, quality, security, and property-accountability requirements.
  
  
  

Requirements

• Experience working in a warehouse, industrial, retail, supply, or material-management environment, or experience operating non-CDL trucks or similar vehicles.
  
  
  


• Experience using computers in a military or civilian retail, warehouse, supply, or store environment.
  
  
  


• Current and valid state driver’s license.
  
  
  


• Clean driving record.
  
  
  


• Ability to obtain and retain a Secret security clearance.
  
  
  


• Ability to successfully complete NASA forklift training, certification, and the required physical examination to receive a forklift license.
  
  
  


• Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment and medium-duty vehicles that do not require a Commercial Driver’s License.
  
  
  


• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
  
  
  


• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing or walking for most of the workday and routinely handling materials.
  
  
  


• Ability to be trained in the proper use of warehouse tools and manual material-handling equipment.
  
  
  


• Ability to clearly read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
  
  
  


• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively by email.
  
  
  


• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
