Material Handler

Description

The Material Handler supports field operations on active construction sites, ensuring materials, tools, and equipment are delivered, organized, and readily available for crews. This is an onsite, entry-level role designed for individuals interested in building a career in mechanical construction. The role plays a critical part in keeping the project moving efficiently and safely.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Transport and stage materials and equipment across the construction site
• Assist in unloading deliveries and verifying material counts with supervision
• Maintain clean and organized laydown areas to support field crew access and productivity
• Support pipefitters, plumbers, and HVAC technicians by delivering tools and supplies to work areas
• Perform basic site prep and general labor tasks as directed by foreman or superintendent
• Remove debris and help keep the job site clean and hazard-free
• Monitor material stock levels and alert supervision of shortages or needs
• Follow all site-specific and company safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times
• Communicate effectively with field leaders to prioritize material movement and job site flow

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Reliable transportation to job site required
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work outdoors in varying conditions
• Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and take direction
• Prior construction or mechanical trades experience preferred but not required
• Commitment to working safely and supporting a team environment
