Material Handler

JOB DESCRIPTION 

The Material Handler is responsible for directing the company’s organizational and storage accuracy programs by executing the inventory management strategy. This position must control and manage all activities related to warehouse storage and movement. Assists other departments by pulling and staging materials for manufacturing use.

Essential Functions

•  General warehouse organization and efficiencies 
•  Maintain a strong inventory management system 
•  Direct the allocation of materials, supplies, and finished products 
•  Pull materials for use by other members of the organization 
•  Return materials following use, verifies counts, and updates log entries
•  Track inventory locations and updates movement within software systems
•  Perform inventory spot counts and cycle counts
•  Work with production scheduling to ensure raw materials are available 
•  Work with purchasing to ensure materials are not hitting critically low amounts 
•  Work with receiving and quality to ensure materials are received timely and accurately 
•  Work diligently to maintain accurate inventory counts throughout the organization
•  Work with Purchasing team to develop a program for staging materials for future use
•  Maintain a clean and safe working environment
•  Helps in other departments as necessary
•  Operates machinery including scissor lifts, forklifts, stackers, pallet jacks, pallet wrappers
•  Forklift training a plus

Requirements

•  Extremely competent organization and data entry skills 
•  Ability to lift 45 lbs.
•  Communication Proficiency 
•  Leadership ability 
•  Advanced Math and Accounting Skills is beneficial 
•  Critical thinking and problem solving 
•  Experience with MS Office is required 
•  Experience with Quickbooks and/or ERP systems is encouraged 
• Required Education and Experience
•  High School Diploma or equivalent experience 
•  Proven ability to manage multiple projects while paying close attention to details.
