Material Handler - 2nd Shift

Description

Job Summary:

The Material Handler in the Shipping Department at Mate Precision Technologies receives, stores, and distributes materials, tools, equipment, and products within the establishment. 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Support new and existing implementations of lean in stockrooms and throughout the shop floor.
• Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and/or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, and/or distributed. 
• Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas. 
• Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to a predetermined sequence, such as size, type, style, color, or product code, placing materials in the correct predetermined bin location. 
• Fill requisitions, work orders, and/or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to production workers or assembly lines, as needed.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, and/or convey orders to the packing station or shipping department.
• Mark materials with identifying information. 
• Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed. 
• Weigh or count items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards. 
• Arrange stock parts in the specified sequence for assembly by other employees. 
• Use a computer to enter records.
• Maintain inventory records. 
• Cycle count inventory at predetermined intervals, or as needed.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Three to six months of related experience and/or training preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal.
• Knowledge and experience working in ERP systems is preferred.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals is required. 
• The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and/or diagram format is required. 
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. 
• Ability to drive a forklift with company-provided training/certification.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, and stooping. 
• Use of hand to finger. 
• Frequently lift, move, push, and pull up to 30 pounds.
• Occasionally lift, move, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Reach with hands and arms.
• Noise level is moderate.
• Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.

Pay, Work Schedule, & Benefits:

• Hourly Pay Range: $17.96 - $24.16/hour
• Work Hours/Schedule: Monday through Thursday from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM and Friday from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM
