Position Summary
Primarily responsible for the support of the DC by efficiently sorting, scanning, staging, wrapping merchandise, and other duties as assigned within the warehouse. Department Material Handler III also checks merchandise and ensures the product is loaded and checked in the proper delivery sequence by customer stop code.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Understand how to read truck loading forecast summary
- Set up a truck run by truck load forecast summary
- Identify and sort by customer stop code
- Operate a handheld scanner
- Stack pallets appropriately to avoid customer service issues
- Load and secure product
- Obtaining power equipment certifications; electric power jack, walker/rider, and forklift
- Meet and exceed quality and production standards
- Ability to take direction from management
- Communicate any truck run changes with transportation
- Adheres to DC housekeeping guidelines
- Ensures Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times
- Perform all job duties in accordance with OSHA standards and adhere to all policies, rules, regulations and procedures
- Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications
- High School diploma preferred
- Knowledge and experience with (WMS) warehouse management systems, or other platforms
- Excellent attendance record
- Must be willing and able to work overtime
- Good comprehension and organizational skills
- Ability to interact effectively with other departments and all levels of management
- Ability to maintain records accurately and demonstrate problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and to meet deadlines
- Must be a team player with a can-do attitude
- Power Equipment certification a plus
Physical Requirements
- Must have the ability to meet physical assessment requirements for this position
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs frequently, 75lbs rarely, and push/pull up to 90lbs
- Ability to complete the physical assessment at the Material Handler III level
