Material Handler 3rd Shift

Description

Position Summary:

Responsible for safely and efficiently operating an industrial fork truck, wrapping machine and bander. Loading and unloading of trucks and trailers is common.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Regularly operate an industrial fork truck.

2. Communicate with team leader and order processing personnel at the beginning of every shift to determine the workload for the day.

3. Selecting product accurately from inventory based off order sheets.

4. Stack and secure product on pallets safely for shipment using wrapping and banding equipment.

5. Sign for, receive, and distribute deliveries to proper location and personnel

6. Verify content and quality of delivery, compare received items to the items of the bill of lading and/or packing slip.

7. Organize stock in storage and get materials to appropriate departments

8. Maintain orderly storage of materials/products to ensure efficiency.

9. Conduct cycle counts as needed based on direction from Management

10. Use computer software as necessary.

11. Follow all company rules and policies

12. Follow all safety rules and quality standards

Requirements

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

a. Must place a strong emphasis on quality and attention to detail.

b. Able to read and understand work orders.

c. Ability to work with hand tools

d. Able to work in a team environment.

e. Able to effectively provide and accept feedback from colleges based on work reviews.

f. Flexibility to work overtime to ensure smooth and continuous manufacturing process.

Essential Physical/ Mental Requirements:

1. Work requires occasional bending, lifting, and reaching.

2. Work is performed in an environment with noise.

3. Need to occasionally move and carry loads of up to 50 lbs.

4. Must have good time management skills.

5. Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift

6. Must have the ability to maintain concentration and focus on tasks requiring timeliness and accuracy while working in an environment with interruptions and occasional noise.
