Job title Prep Line Material Handler
Training schedule 1st shift | Normal shift: 1st, 2nd, 3rd
Training will be done 7AM-3PM for an indefinite period of time. After trained: Could end up on any of the shifts.

Extruder operation knowledge and/or experience a plus - Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position, and secure machinery
Sharp individual with great attention to safety, stamina, effective communication, and accuracy.
Manager is looking for great attedance
Temp to perm for right individual
Talent should be open to working any shift after training
Day to Day operation
Putting raw materials through conveyer on prep line that starts the production line
Working with both paper and plastic
Will train very hands
Utilize the forklift to grab necessary material(s) and place finished products in Finished Goods area.
Moving paper rolls with a forklift.

SUMMARY The Production Associate 4 - Material Handler *Prep Line* position is responsible for the process of making corner boards that fall within the guidelines of the quality standards. At this level the associate is expected to perform all listed job functions without assistance. Utlize sit down forklift is ( 50% of job daily tasks) . Forklift experience is a must ( sit down)

Essential Functions:
1. Must follow all company safety rules and processes for their safety and the safety of all co-workers.
2. Threading the paper through the line as needed.
3. Setting the extruder speeds to a level that will ensure production goals will be achieved.
4. Making all adjustments that will allow a quality product to be produced.
5. Cleaning the magnet to reduce the amount of metal flowing through the extruder.
6. Communicating with the prep line operator to promote a stable mix flow.
7. Printing date code on the product for tractability.
8. Reviewing the order to determine machine setup.
9. Maintaining a clean area that promotes safety.
10. Utilize the forklift to grab necessary material(s) and place finished products in Finished Goods area.
11. Moving paper rolls with a forklift.
12. Keeping an inventory of all print plates, inks and ammonia.
13. Placing print plates onto roller for printing.
14. Preparing and adjusting the ink mixtures as needed to obtain a quality print job.
15. Adjusting the rollers to obtain a quality print job.
16. Ensuring rewound rolls of printed paper are sufficient for processing.
17. Must have knowledge of using the ID line.
18. Must also have experience in performing the prep line operator, extruder line operator, and the shipper/receiver positions.
19. Using the forklift to load bales of plastic and paper onto conveyors 1 and 2
20. Conveying the material into the shredders.
21. Adjusting the shredder speeds accordingly, for the materials they are running.
22. Controlling the speeds of conveyors 3 and 4. This controls the ratio of plastic versus paper in the mix.
23. Conveying material to the grinder.
24. Keeping a continuous flow of cable insulation in the system.
25. Maintaining a sufficient amount of mix in the three silos.
26. Maintaining a mix that will allow the extrusion line operators to reach production goals.
27. Maintaining a clean work area that promotes safety.
28. Anything else deemed necessary to produce a quality product under plant guidelines.

A. Adjusting the forming tray.
B. Setting the paper guides
C. Setting paper tension.
D. Setting the pressure of the draw rollers.
E. Setting the pressure and speed of the profilers.
F. Inputting the information needed to cut the product at the right lengths.
G. Performing quality checks every 15 minutes. This consists of checking the length, angle, leg width, thickness and visual appearance of the product.
H. Adjusting the angle as needed.

Experience / Abilities:
Previous manufacturing experience helpful but not required
Ability to count
Ability to follow directions and willingness to learn
Ability to maintain legible and accurate records for production reporting and quality checks
The ability to obtain a forklift license is required for this role.
Ability to work with little direction
Ability to muti-task

Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed (steel toe shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, etc.).

Computer skills:
Ability to enter data into the production reporting software

Other Physical Requirements Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, an individual is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, talk and hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
While performing essential functions, this role occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. This role will work in hot environment at times. Regularly required to lift and carry items up to 25 lbs. May occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Frequently required to stand for long periods of time on various types of flooring. Will be exposed to loud noise during entire shift, ear protection will be provided.
