Volt is immediately hiring for Material Handlers / Assemblers in Smyrna Tennessee!

1st shift: Monday - Friday 6:00a -2:30p OT as needed, pay rate: $20 per hour
2nd shift: Monday - Friday 3:30p - 12:00am OT as needed, pay rate: $22 per hour

As a Material Handler you will:

• Perform routine and repetitive material handling responsibilities within the Schneider Electric manufacturing facility.
• Providing continuous supply of materials to one or more production or assembly areas.
• “Kitting” materials on the production line to ensure all parts of order required are at point of origination to keep line moving at steady pace.
• Picking parts from Kanban or storage areas and placing the parts into a storage bin (kit).
• Ensures correct parts are kept in the appropriate quantities to support production and assembly requirements.
• Operate forklift or other PIT.
• May maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file kitter records.

As an Assembler you will:

• Possess a good understanding of blue prints/schematics and wiring experience.
• Experience in reading drawings and working with electrical equipment.
• Experience using various tools including manual/electric/pneumatic tools, fork truck (including stand-up), jib crane, templates/fixtures, hand carts, measuring devices and prescribed safety equipment.

The ideal candidate will have:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience with material handling
• 1+ year Forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. repeatedly.
• Valid driver’s license
• Candidates selected must meet all pre-screening eligibility requirements.
