Material Planning Coordinator

Position Summary:

Talent Source is currently hiring a Material Planning Coordinator to support shipyard material control and warehouse operations in San Diego, CA. This role is responsible for supporting shipping, receiving, stockroom operations, inventory tracking, and material coordination within a fast-paced industrial and ship repair environment.

Job Duties:

• Support daily material planning and control operations.

• Handle shipping, receiving, and stockroom activities.

• Ensure all material receipts and shipments are accurately entered into the system.

• Verify materials received match purchase orders and required certifications.

• Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) in compliance with OSHA standards.

• Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and accurate inventory documentation.

• Assist with movement of materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, and rigging equipment.

• Support Government Furnished Material (GFM) and PTD processes.

• Maintain accurate records, certifications, and documentation.

• Follow all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security procedures at all times.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Warehouse experience within the Navy ship repair or shipyard industry preferred.

• Experience with material handling, rigging, forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse operations.

• Familiarity with Government specifications and technical drawings preferred.

• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to work in industrial and shipboard environments.

• Ability to lift and move materials over 40 lbs.

• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and ramps aboard vessels.

Work Environment:

• Industrial and shipboard environment.

• Exposure to machinery, industrial processes, chemicals, and varying weather conditions may occur.

• Frequent movement throughout the shipyard and aboard vessels required.
