Serving under the Associate Production Supervisor, the Material Prep Team Lead supports the flow of work and general productivity of the Material Prep Team. We will have two positions available for this role: one will work from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM and the other from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. This position assists the Associate Production Supervisor in overseeing inventory and work order prep within the Reno Operations Center (“ROC”) and acts as point of contact for manufacturing inventory control and prep coordination. The Material Prep Team Lead works in correspondence with Production leadership to improve Material Prep processes, improve efficiency, and ensure accuracy of raw material preparation. This position is expected to mentor and guide team members on proper practices and procedures while instilling the importance of urgency, quality, and consistency. Effective communication is required, especially between Production, Supply Chain, Product Management, Engineering, Quality, Production Scheduling, Distribution, and the Sr. Inventory Control Specialist to ensure accuracy in both quantity and quality of goods.
This position requires acute attention to detail. This position performs the full range of manufacturing duties with minimal instruction or assistance. Primary responsibilities (approximately 75% of the time) include the following: monitoring and control of manufacturing inventory, Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy, and prep coordination. Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. Work is normally reviewed during and upon completion of tasks for overall results. The remaining time (25%) supports manufacturing Technician duties by providing hands-on technical expertise to properly assemble and manufacture linear lighting applications.

Assists Production leadership in maintaining a smooth and continuous workflow for the material prep team
Actively seeks process improvements and tooling changes that improve quality and productivity for the team
Ensures BOMs are accurate: parts, quantities, Unit of Measure (UOM), description, assembly instructions
Assists management with answering customer service requests in a timely manner
Provides recommendations on how to improve processes, procedures and general efficiencies and effectiveness of the function
Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures, utilizing all required safety equipment
Safely and effectively use and operate hand tools such as a soldering iron, heat gun, powered wire stripping machines and other equipment required for the work
Work with low voltage electricity
Detect and correct quality problems found during the Material Prep process
Organize, stock and issue supplies and equipment
Use tact, initiative, prudence and independent judgment within general policy, procedural and legal guidelines
Establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships with Elemental LED team members
Trains Material Prep Team personnel on the SOPs and proper work practices used in manufacturing
Maintains work area in a secure, clean, neat, and orderly condition which may include sweeping, and dusting
Assists with implementing projects of customized LED components and/or systems
Performs a wide variety of electronic and electro-mechanical assembly tasks
Assembles, tests, and modifies prototypes or custom electronic parts and systems, including soldering wires
Works from schematics, oral instructions, and existing documentation
Ability to safely and effectively use and operate industrial machinery and hand tools including soldering irons, heat guns, and other equipment required for the work
Performs additional duties as assigned

High school diploma/GED, or equivalent experience and training are typically required
Two years technical degree or accelerated technical program or equivalent experience/knowledge preferred
Minimum of 3 years working in a manufacturing/distribution environment, quality assurance, assembly, testing, or experience working in an environment using hands tools and equipment
Proficient use of the machinery involved in raw material preparation
Proven ability to operate the production machinery in one or more of the following machine work centers identified by Management: AlphaTech, Hydrolume, LGP, ACT, and others as processes develop
MS Office (Word, Excel); FedEx, UPS and USPS software systems, and Fishbowl Inventory is a plus
Excellent listening and communication (verbal and written) skills
Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Must have excellent attention to detail, be driven, work well independently, and have a knack for problem solving
Knowledge of electrical/electronic machinery or equipment, preferred
Additional Machinery and Tooling requirements may be required at any point in time upon introduction to the manufacturing department regarding industry progression. It is beneficial and preferred for the employee to have had experience with the machinery and equipment but is not required.
