Job Description - Materials Consultant - Maryland

3form is the leading manufacturer of award-winning translucent sustainable materials and solutions for the Architecture + Design industry. The company focuses on producing high-quality materials with a low environmental impact. We’re seeking a proactive, reliable, and meticulous Materials Consultant/Sales Representative based in Maryland.  In this role, you will support Maryland's designers, architects, contractors, dealers, and end-users. You will work closely with 3form’s internal project support staff on sampling, quoting, technical services, and project management.


Position Description:



  • Conduct 13 high-quality client meetings every week. Meeting types include in-person and virtual project-specific meetings, product presentations, AIA/IDCEC CEU presentations, custom sample drop-offs, and library updates.

  •  Build long-term, positive relationships with firms and individuals based on mutual respect, competence, and general likeability.

  • Maintain and refine existing systems to track projects from client interest through specification, construction, and completion (sampling -> quoting -> ordering -> installation -> imagery).

  • Handle field calls, give out budget pricing, and create projects and customers in the online system.

  • Develop technical proficiency in 3form products to answer standard client questions and concerns.

  • Attend and participate in a weekly team sales call.

  • Attend annual sales conferences.


Required Skills/Attributes for Success:  



  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Developing technical proficiency in 3form products.

  • Managing a high volume of communication using technology.


You will thrive in this role if



  • You are a seasoned sales professional with a hunter mentality and a tenacious approach. Our salescycle can be longer, so you have to be willing to work with accounts until the client has a need.

  •  You enjoy building relationships and fostering rapport with clients.

  •  You have killer time management skills. Materials Consultants enjoy a great sense of autonomy. To be successful, you must organize and balance your activities appropriately (prospecting, selling, and account management) to drive results.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Interior Design/Interior Architecture or Construction Management.

  • 3-5 years of experience in remote sales with a proven track record

  • The ability to read architectural drawings is preferred

  • A business development mindset focused on aggressively growing sales

  • Strong emotional intelligence with experience working in an entrepreneurial environment

  • Successful track record in driving growth in revenue, number of projects

  • Ability to manage projects and problem-solve specifiers’ concerns and/or questions

  • Authentic, energetic, effective communicator


Physical Requirements



  • Capable of lifting 35 lbs in and out of a car or other transportation

  • Capable to carry and walking with 35lbs including walking up and down stairs
