About the Position: This position is located at the 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Fort Leonard Wood, Supply and Services Division. This position will be filled as a term appointment NTE 13 months. Responsibilities Receive requests for issue or shipment of supplies and equipment. Determine docking area for off-loading. Operate forklifts/motor vehicles safely. Process incoming shipments from supported customer units or commercial shipments. Participate in inventories of stock on hand as required. Issue items listed on Delegation of Authority Card (DA Form 1687). Assemble items in temporary storage area for issue or further distribution to appropriate storage area. Perform warehousing duties such as receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping sensitive items such as small arms, classified items, and communication security material. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Materials Handler (Forklift Operator/Motor Vehicle Operator) without more than normal supervision to include performing warehousing operations which include 1) receiving, storing and issuing a wide variety of supplies and equipment; and 2) unloading, inspecting, and tallying stock to assure quantities and types of items agree with shipping documents. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two point on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Frequently required to lift and carry items weighing up to 70 pounds and to occasionally handle items over 70 pounds. Assistance is available in lifting heavier items. Working Conditions: Primarily works inside and outside in cold, damp, drafty and hot areas. Subject to injury from falling objects, collisions, shifting and overturning loads. Education This job does not have an education requirement. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 13 months. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years depending upon the needs of management. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
