Math Intervention Teacher (Small Group)

Empowerment Academy Charter School is hiring a teacher to do intervention work in Mathematics at the High School level in small groups. It is a push-in, pull-out Lead Teacher role. This is an opening for the 2025-2026 school year and beyond. We are currently implementing a Critical Need Bonus for certified Math Teachers who successfully join our team of $7,500! 

Base Salary SY25/26: $67,000-90,000

Hours: 7:15-3:45

Competitive Raises year to year, many BONUS and Stipend opportunities, no Master's needed.

TEACHER SUPPORTS

Teachers at Empowerment Academy are part of a school-wide team.  They receive career-long coaching and professional development support from school leaders; work with their peers in professional learning communities (PLCs) to plan lessons and solve problems; and partner with an array of specialists to meet scholars’ diverse needs.

Examples of such teacher supports include:

• Abundant planning periods during the school day;
• A research-based curriculum and supporting curricular materials; 
• High-quality formative assessments, aligned with the curriculum, that help identify when students have not achieved mastery of a skill, concept, or knowledge item; and
• Full-time reading and math specialists who tutor students struggling to master an essential skill, and counselors and social workers who help students struggling with non-academic problems.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Teacher certification is required for this role. Ideally, candidates should hold a CE, CEAS, Limited CE, or Standard Certificate as a “Teacher of Mathematics” or "TOSD" issued by the NJDOE. As this is for Basic Skills Purposes Only, we would consider K-6 certification.
