Partnering with school districts nationwide, our dropout recovery and student re-engagement programs are supported by cutting-edge technology and a commitment to compassionate teaching.

The Role

As a Math Teacher, you will serve as the primary learning resource for our Graduation Candidates (GCs), helping them master academic content and stay on track to graduate. You’ll guide students through a competency-based blended curriculum while providing individualized instruction and support. Through a combination of facilitation, mentorship, and academic coaching, you will empower students to achieve academic milestones and post-secondary success.

Key Responsibilities

Enrollment

  • Support new student enrollment by engaging in recruitment and outreach efforts.

  • Assist in creating Personalized Learning Plans tailored to each student’s unique needs and goals.

Retention

  • Serve as an advisor for assigned students, maintaining regular communication and collaboration with support teams.

  • Monitor students’ attendance, academic progress, and overall well-being to ensure consistent engagement and success.

Academics

  • Plan and deliver high-quality instruction in Mathematics, both in 1:1 and group settings, aligned to a competency-based model.

  • Conduct formative and summative assessments to evaluate students’ academic progress and adjust instruction as needed.

  • Analyze and utilize data to inform instructional strategies and drive student outcomes.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of IEPs, Exceptional Student Education (ESE), and English Language Learner (ELL) accommodations. Support and document progress toward student goals and participate in required meetings.

  • Provide targeted remediation and enrichment opportunities to meet the diverse needs of learners.

  • Contribute to the success of academy initiatives including data reviews, professional development workshops, and school/community events.

Advocacy

  • Collaborate with student support teams to develop academic, behavioral, and transition plans—incorporating incentives that improve student achievement.

  • Participate actively in academy-wide meetings and represent the academy at community events to advocate for student success.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed in support of the academy's mission.

What We’re Looking For

  • Certification: Florida Educator’s License with a 6–12 Mathematics endorsement required

  • Experience: 2+ years of relevant teaching experience (preferably high school)

  • Skills: Strong communication, organization, time management, and collaboration skills

  • Passion: A genuine commitment to supporting youth who have disengaged from traditional schooling and helping them succeed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual (Spanish preferred)

  • Experience working in non-traditional or alternative education environments

  • Understanding of ESE, ELL, and behavior intervention strategies

  • Familiarity with competency-based education, project-based learning, instructional coaching, and technology integration
