WHIN is currently seeking a high performing Math Director of Curriculum and Instruction (DCI) ready to help grow a unique school community where compassion, kindness, and curiosity drive each and every day.

 Specifically, the Math Director of Curriculum and Instruction at WHIN reports to the Principal and is primarily responsible for ensuring all students are learning his/her best by ensuring teachers are fully prepared, supported, and performing at a high caliber.

Specifically, the Math DCI is responsible for:

Managing the implementation and design a standard- aligned schoolwide math and science curriculum and assessment programs.

• Aligning the math curriculum with other school curriculum programs, NY state standards, and any other scientifically based benchmarks.
• Leading the development, implementation, and adjustment of grade level math and science scope and sequence and pacing calendars.
• Manage student math and science assessment schedules, logistics, and data.
• Observing and coaching teachers daily.
• Supporting teachers to develop his/her instructional strategies.
• Contributing to the evaluation of academic staff.
• Preparing and conducting professional development, data review sessions, and content-based team meetings.
• Provide professional development on best math and science instructional practices
• Determining and coordinate high quality internal and external professional development opportunities for staff.
• Collaborating with other leadership staff to build a culture of high academic achievement. 

Qualifications for the Math DCI are:

• Master’s Degree in education or related field
• Three years (minimum) classroom experience
• Experience in urban schools and/or communities
• Expertise in math, science, and early learning processes
• Strong organization skills
• Keen analytical problem-solving skills
• Ability to work well on a team and communicate effectively
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic, and exciting school
• Ability to work autonomously as well as take coaching as needed
• School leadership, teacher mentor, content coaching experience preferred
• A sense of humor and kindness towards your colleagues

Advanced proficiency in one or more of the following areas is strongly preferred

• Bilingual (Spanish)
• Music performance
• Early Childhood teaching experience and/or certifications
• Project Based Learning and Inquiry Based Learning
• Responsive Classroom and Restorative Justice models
• NY State and Common Core learning Standards
• Benchmark, Formative, Summative, and Cornerstone Assessments
• Cross Curricular Planning and Implementation
• Demonstrated success raising achievement levels of all students

Compensation and Benefits: Compensation and Benefits: $90,000 - $120,000 based on experience: WHIN Music Community Charter School offers a competitive salary and benefits, fun and professional working environment, as well as ongoing development opportunities.
