Pay: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year

Location: Manhattan, New York, NY | Flexible Hybrid / Remote. We offer flexibility for New York-based attorneys who can balance remote work with regular in-person court appearances and office attendance when needed. This position is intended for candidates residing in New York State.

Note: Candidates must have substantive matrimonial or family law litigation experience within a law firm, strong legal writing and courtroom advocacy skills, and the ability to appear regularly in New York courts. Active New York Bar admission is required. We are seeking an experienced law firm associate rather than a candidate whose background is primarily solo practice or in-house counsel.

Job Description

• Represent clients in matrimonial and family law matters, including divorce, custody, support, and related disputes.
• Manage litigation matters from initial strategy through negotiations, hearings, and resolution.
• Draft persuasive motions, pleadings, legal memoranda, settlement agreements, and other court documents.
• Advocate confidently for clients during court conferences, hearings, and other proceedings.
• Conduct legal research, analyze complex issues, and develop effective case strategies.
• Negotiate with opposing counsel to achieve favorable resolutions when appropriate.
• Build trusted client relationships through clear communication, responsiveness, and compassionate representation.
• Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to deliver exceptional legal services.

Qualifications

• Active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar.
• 3+ years of matrimonial or family law litigation experience preferred; strong candidates with 3+ years will be considered.
• Experience working as an associate attorney within a law firm.
• Strong legal research, drafting, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.
• Experience appearing in court and handling contested matrimonial matters.
• Ability to manage cases, prioritize deadlines, and communicate effectively with clients.
• Currently residing in New York State and available for regular in-person court appearances in New York City.
