Position: MBO Navigator / Bindery Operator

Reports to: Production Manager

Exempt Status: Exempt

Position Location: Onsite

M-F, 1st Shift, 7am to 3pm

Full Time - 40 hours per week

Responsibilities for this position include:

• Operation of MBO Navigator, folder operator & gluing 
• Responsible for the finishing operations of printed materials from both conventional and digital press. Including jogging, cutting, folding, stitching, die cutting, round cornering, drilling. Operator must be able to set up and make ready all bindery equipment.
• Locate job/project from other departments within the plant
• Log in and out of data collection software
• Read entire ticket including all job notes. Review proof and/or sample. Confirm finishing specs.
• Gather needed materials for job including but not limited boxes, tape, labels
• Run job at an efficient speed while maintaining quality and for printing errors
• Approve any issues/changes with supervisor
• Move completed jobs to next departments appropriate department once complete
• Willing to work and cross train on other bindery stations
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum requirements for this position:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, position self to move about, while using both arms and fingers. 
• Must be able to stand 75% of the time & sit.
• The employee must frequently move up to 40 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
• Communicate & comprehend in English, calculate measurements 
• 21 yrs older operate the machinery

Preferred skills & qualifications:

• Experience on the following machines: 
• Experience with PACE software
• 2+ years working with as a folder / gluer operator. MBO Navigator a plus. 
• 2+ years experience as a Bindery Operator, 
• 4+ years experience in the Printing Industry
• Open to working overtime hours if needed
