Job Summary:

Grand Villa Port Charlotte is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Life Enrichment Director for our Memory Care Unit. The ideal candidate will be experienced in developing and implementing recreational activities and therapeutic programs tailored for seniors with dementia and other memory-related challenges. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through engaging and meaningful activities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and implement a comprehensive life enrichment program that meets the needs of residents with dementia and memory impairments.

- Facilitate recreational activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical engagement.

- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure activities align with residents' therapeutic goals.

- Train and supervise staff and volunteers involved in life enrichment activities.

- Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make necessary adjustments to enhance resident participation and satisfaction.

- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all residents during activities.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy, Gerontology, or a related field preferred.

- Experience working with seniors, particularly those with dementia or memory-related conditions.

- Strong understanding of therapeutic recreation principles and practices.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

- Creative and resourceful in developing engaging activities.

- Compassionate and patient demeanor.
