Director of MDS & Clinical Reimbursement

A leading Long-Term Care and Rehabilitation Facility in the Bronx, NY seeks an experienced Director of MDS to lead our clinical reimbursement team and ensure excellence in resident care assessment. This role offers an exceptional compensation package of $190,000-$220,000 annually.

Position Overview

As Director of MDS, you will lead a team of 7 MDS nurses while overseeing all aspects of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) process, ensuring regulatory compliance, and optimizing clinical reimbursement outcomes.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the MDS department and RAI process implementation
• Direct completion and accuracy of all resident assessments within CMS timeframes
• Lead PDPM optimization efforts while maintaining compliance standards
• Manage case-mix index and quality measures to enhance facility performance
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care planning
• Oversee Medicare/Medicaid documentation to maximize appropriate reimbursement
• Chair quality assurance committees and participate in strategic planning
• Mentor and develop MDS team members

Required Qualifications

• Current New York State RN License
• Minimum 4 years Long-Term Care experience
• 5+ years MDS Coordinator experience
• Strong understanding of PDPM, Medicare, and Medicaid regulations
• Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities
