Job Description - Measurement Technician I

The Measurement Technician I performs quality testing, accurate calibration, and troubleshooting of gas measurement equipment to ensure its reliable operation. They are responsible for timely analytics, sampling, and maintaining the equipment's functionality.


 


Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Installs, commissions, inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, calibrates, and maintains all gas measurement equipment including but not limited to: Dry flow recorders, EFM’s, USM’s, samplers, orifice plates, and meter tubes.

  • Ensures all gas measurement and related equipment operates at peak efficiency.

  • Installs, commissions, inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, calibrates, and maintains all gas quality equipment including gas chromatographs, O2 analyzers, H2S analyzers, H2O analyzers, and composite samplers.

  • Performs spot sampling and associated witnessing of custody transfer meters.

  • Supports Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) processes by accomplishing daily activities within applicable regulations and policies, carrying out duties in an environmentally conscious manner, following safe operating practices and maintaining a safe working environment.

  • Prepares accurate reports and records of work performed.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


 


Required Skills/Abilities: 



  • Possess a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. 

  • Familiarity with EPA, DOT, RRC, OSHA, NEC, AGA, API, and GPA regulations and procedures.

  • Must be a self-starter. 

  • Basic measurement knowledge.

  • Excellent communication skills. 

  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to follow procedures accurately and completely. 

  • Basic computer and math skills.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently under close supervision and in a team environment.

  • Willingness to learn new technologies and methods.


 


Education and Experience:



  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 1+ years of experience in measurement, instrumentation, and electrical within the industry


 


Certifications:



  • None required 


 


Physical Demands and Hazard for Field Employees:


This position may require occasional travel to remote sites, potential exposure to flammable material, adherence to safety protocols, compliance with operating regulations, and will require rigorous physical demands.
