Position Summary:

The Meat & Seafood Cutter is responsible for cutting, trimming, and preparing fresh meat and seafood products according to department standards. This role ensures high-quality cuts, proper portioning, and compliance with food safety regulations while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.This position reports to the Department Manager.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service by assisting with special requests, offering product recommendations, and answering questions about meat and seafood selections.
• Cut, trim, and portion various meats and seafood to meet customer and department needs.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of products while following food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Maintain accurate labeling, pricing, and displays to enhance the customer shopping experience.
• Keep work areas clean, sanitized, and well-organized to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
• Operate and maintain meat cutting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with team members to uphold department standards and provide outstanding service.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in meat or seafood cutting preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to safely use knives and meat-cutting equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

• Stand for extended periods in a cold, refrigerated environment (32°F–40°F).
• Use sharp knives, saws, and meat-cutting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Lift, carry, and move products weighing up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Perform repetitive motions such as cutting, trimming, and packaging.
• Work with raw meat, seafood, and exposure to common allergens.
• Follow safety protocols to prevent injury and maintain a clean workspace.
