SUMMARY

Responsible for providing scheduled preventative maintenance, scheduled operational support, environmental operational assistance, safety, perform and update preventative maintenance projects, special operational service requests as directed by Plant Operator, while utilizing knowledge and experience to identify and complete other special facility projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. 

· Complete routine scheduled preventative maintenance.

· Document performance in maintenance log and complete all performance reports.

· Responsible for servicing equipment on assigned projects.

· Responsible for ash discharge rams, ash sump water management, and pit cleanliness.

· Uses a variety of hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units.

· Identifies, analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs systems.

· Performs preventative maintenance, replacement, and modifications as need or requested.

· Prepares for on-site installation and repairs, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials and coordinating project requirements, as necessary.

· Inspects primary chamber and responsible for ash ram discharge and water levels.

· Completes record keeping service logs.

· Evaluates infrastructure and inspects for signs of equipment failure.

· Documents work by completing paperwork on each shift and maintaining files.

· Determines parts to order for repairs, timeliness of need, and coordinates with purchasing.

· Records parts, material, labor, subs and other cost data per assignment and returns unused resources.

· Turns in all required paperwork and reports in a timely manner.

· Keeps current on all safety requirements.

· Provides field technical support to the Plant Supervisor.

· Flexibility to work overtime/weekends as necessary. Shift work necessary.

Requirements

Education and Experience: 

-Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a Technical / Trade School or five (5) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

· Basic understanding of maintenance processes, industrial safety applications and terminology related to a distribution environment, including but not limited to use of hand and power tools

· Experience in maintenance crafts and mechanical repair (electrical and welding); electrical trouble shooting; reading and interpreting electrical drawings.

· Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and ability to stand for periods of up to 3 hours

· Proven ability to work well with others, self-motivated, work with little or no supervision, multi task and prioritize daily

· Excellent organizational, interpersonal, decision making and communication skills

· Ability to work in confined spaces

· Ability to climb and work in elevated locations.

Strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills required with some PLC experience.

Work in this position is performed in a plant processing environment and subject to mandatory, regular medical screening as outlined in the company safety programs that is position related and consistent with business necessity.
