Job Description - Mechanic ASE Certified (Equipment Repair)

GovFirst is seeking to hire multiple ASE Certified Mechanics to support equipment repair and maintenance across Virginia in locations including Bristol, Culpeper, Fredericksburg, Hampton Roads, Lynchburg, Northern Virginia, Richmond, Salem, and Staunton within the Transportation Operations Division. These mechanics will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, diesel, and gasoline engines and generators to ensure safe and efficient equipment operations.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform master-level installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, diesel, and gasoline engines and generators.

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, identify faults, and implement corrective actions using industry best practices.

  • Ensure all maintenance and repair activities meet safety, performance, and regulatory standards.

  • Work independently or in a team environment to complete tasks efficiently while adhering to schedules and protocols.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report on equipment conditions.

  • Collaborate with supervisors, team members, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and effective repairs.

  • Adhere to safety protocols and promote a safe working environment during equipment repair and maintenance operations.


Requirements

  • ASE Certification in gasoline and/or diesel engine repair and maintenance is required.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems related to equipment repair and maintenance.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in heavy-duty equipment.

  • Ability to diagnose problems and implement effective solutions independently or with a team.

  • Skilled in the use of tools and equipment necessary for repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks.

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions clearly.

  • Strong communication skills for documenting work and interacting with team members and supervisors.

  • Commitment to safety standards and best practices in equipment repair and maintenance.
