Job Title: Mechanic I

Job Summary:
The Mechanic I plays a vital support role within the maintenance team, assisting journey-level mechanics in performing preventive maintenance and repair of motorized equipment. This position involves working with gasoline and diesel engines, as well as supporting mechanical maintenance on various systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist experienced mechanics in diagnosing, servicing, and repairing gasoline and diesel-powered engines and mechanical systems.
Support preventive maintenance activities on a wide range of vehicles and industrial equipment.
Participate in inspections, troubleshooting, and repair work on pumps, motors, compressors, and related machinery used in water treatment and distribution facilities.
Help respond to equipment failures and emergency maintenance needs to minimize downtime and service disruptions.

Qualifications:

Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and safety practices.
Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment, including exposure to noise, hazardous materials, and varying weather conditions.
High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or relevant coursework in mechanics is a plus.
Valid driver’s license
