Mechanic I

The Mechanic I supports maintenance operations by performing mechanical, electrical, and structural repairs. Assists mechanics, electricians, and mobile technicians in maintaining plant machinery, equipment, and facilities to meet production needs in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner.

• Lead complex mechanical repairs and equipment overhauls.

• Diagnose root causes of recurring equipment failures and develop corrective actions.

• Coordinate with engineering and maintenance planning teams.

• Provide technical expertise during shutdowns and capital projects.

• Mentor mechanics across multiple shifts.

• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

• 7–10 years of mechanical maintenance experience.

• Expert knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.

• Strong leadership and project management skills.

• Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience preferred.

• Welding and machining certifications preferred.

• High level of safety and quality awareness.

• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work outdoors in all seasons.

• Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work from elevated platforms.

• Ability to use hand tools such as shovels, hammers, and wrenches.

• Strong problem-solving skills.
