Job Title: Mechanic II
Department: General Maintenance
Reports To: Maintenance Manager


Work Schedule: 3rd Shift from 7pm-7am Tuesday - Friday

Position Summary:


The Millwright 1st Class is responsible for performing hands-on mechanical work installing, modifying, and repairing, and maintaining  equipment and machinery.  Job involves trouble shooting and repair of equipment malfunctions on and off site.  This person will also be responsible for fabrication and assembly of machinery components.  This position requires working off shifts, weekends, and varied schedules.


 


Job Requirements:



  • Six years of 1st Class  industrial Millwright  experience.

  • Must have graduated from a vocational training program in Millwrighting or Machining or the equivalent.

  • Knowledge of basic algebra and Shop math expertise

  • Ability to develop, read, and work from blue prints

  • Ability to read & work from equipment schematics & drawings

  • Must be proficient at rigging

  • Must have a high proficiency in current maintenance technology, including assembly repair & reassemble of machine components such as, but not limited to, gear boxes, couplings, gears, motors, and bearings.

  • Must be able to stick and MIG weld.

  • Must have working knowledge and comprehension of hydraulic, gas & pneumatic systems

  • Knowledgeable of preventative and predictive maintenance systems.

  • Proficient at troubleshooting Mechanical and basic electrical equipment.

  • Must be able to cross train in multi-crafts

  • Must be capable of making timely decisions utilizing sound judgment.

  • Must be able to operate fork lift and high reach

  • Must have a proven ability to perform all tasks in a safe and timely manner

  • High Mechanical aptitude

  • Good oral and written communications skills

  • Must possess a high degree of initiative, creativity, self-supervision and respect for safety rules and procedures

  • Willing and able to work alternate shift schedule

  • Must possess a valid drivers license

  • Must have a basic understanding of OSHA required safety rules.

  • Frequent use of hands & arms in performing a wide variety of tasks requiring different motions.  Considerable walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and moving around large machinery are required.  Occasionally lifting 80 lbs. And frequently lifting 40 lbs.


 


Preferred Qualifications



  • Previous experience Computerized Maintenance Management Systems - CMMS

  • Able to work at heights

  • Secondary technical education

  • Available for occasional Overtime when required

  • Operation of Forklift and Manlifts

  • Experience in MS office

  • Ability to use precision measuring devices such as Micrometers, Dial Indicators

  • Able to work with minimal Supervision

  • Fabrication Skills

  • Welding and cutting -Mig, Tig, Stick, Oxy-Acet, Plasma

  • Predictive technologies-Infrared, Ultrasonic, Vibration

  • Alignment-Couplings, Chains, Sprockets, Belts, Equipment
