Mechanical Assembler

We're looking for a Mechanical Assembler to join a manufacturing team responsible for assembling and testing enclosed drive gearboxes. This is a hands-on position ideal for candidates with mechanical assembly experience who enjoy working in a fast-paced production environment. The role involves assembling gearboxes and subassemblies, reading blueprints, using measuring tools, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining quality and safety standards.

Schedule

• Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Overtime may be required based on workload)


• $22.89 - $28.43 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble and test enclosed drive gearboxes


• Perform gearbox and subassembly assembly operations


• Read assembly blueprints and use calipers and other precision measuring instruments


• Record measurements and production data accurately


• Troubleshoot assembly issues and make necessary corrections


• Maintain organized work areas, equipment, and tools


• Follow all safety procedures and company policies


• Collaborate with Purchasing, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve production issues


• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the assembly and testing areas


• Assist with process improvements and team problem-solving


• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required


• At least 1 year of mechanical assembly or industrial manufacturing experience


• Material handling experience required


• Ability to read assembly blueprints in English


• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail


• Knowledge of shop safety practices


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team


• Willingness to cross-train and adapt to changing priorities


• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods


• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds


• Comfortable working in varying factory temperatures


• Willing to work overtime and occasional weekends as needed
