OR  2nd Shift:  2:00pm – 10:30pm M-F (that includes 10% shift differential)

Hands-On Work in Bethlehem — Plus Travel with Purpose
As a Mechanical Assembler at ABEC, your work doesn’t stay in one place—and neither do you. This is project-based manufacturing at its best.
You’ll spend weeks or months in our clean, climate-controlled Bethlehem facility, carefully building precision stainless-steel systems and vessels. Once complete, you and your teammates travel to customer sites to install and commission the same equipment you helped create.
This isn’t travel for travel’s sake—it’s travel with purpose. Your work directly supports the production of life-saving medicines, and you’ll see the real-world impact of what you build.

What You’ll Do

  • Fabricate and assemble mechanical components using schematics from our in-house design team
  • Build precision equipment for advanced liquid pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Test, troubleshoot, and verify system performance
  • Travel within the U.S. or internationally to support equipment installation and final commissioning

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Team-based manufacturing of state-of-the-art, custom equipment
  • Balanced travel—enough to expand your experience without constant time on the road
  • End-to-end visibility—see your work go from concept to build to real-world operation
  • Skill growth through exposure to diverse environments, systems, and technical challenges

What You Bring

  • Experience in mechanical assembly or fabrication; stainless steel experience preferred
  • MIG/TIG welding experience is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and cleanliness
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites to install and start up equipment you helped build in Bethlehem, PA

What You Get

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Travel premium and per diem pay
  • Discretionary bonuses
  • 10% Shift differential for 2nd shift
  • Day 1 benefits: medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 3 weeks paid vacation plus 10 paid holidays annually
  • Industry-leading 401(k) with 40% company match
  • Company-paid life insurance
  • Safe, clean, climate-controlled work environment
  • Company-provided uniform shirts and PPE
  • Steel-toe boot vouchers
  • College tuition assistance program
  • Employee referral program
  • Fun employee events: food trucks, ice cream socials, BBQs, baseball games, cornhole tournaments, and more

The Bottom Line

This role combines hands-on mechanical assembly with opportunities to support on-site installations. If you prefer working on complex equipment and seeing projects through from build to startup, this position delivers that experience.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent.

• One (1) year previous Assembler/Fabrication experience.

• Experience with MIG & TIG stainless steel welding methods & techniques a plus, but not required.

• Ability to read tape measure and perform simple mathematical equations.

• Aptitude with blue print reading.

• Proficient with the use of hand tools and basic fabrication tools.

• Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. / 23 kilograms.

• Typical work is in a manufacturing environment or customer’s site.

• Required to stand for long periods of time and may involve heavy manual labor.

• You will need to be able to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, reach, lift, push, pull and carry items.

• Exposure to loud noises.

• Ability to wear personal protective equipment.

• Awareness of and prior experience with implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) a plus.
