Onboard Systems International (“Onboard”), a Signia Aerospace company, is the leading global provider of external cargo handling equipment for civil and military helicopters. Founded nearly 50 years ago, the facility in Vancouver, WA has a growing product portfolio including mechanical cargo hooks and suspension systems, to proprietary weighing systems and a Human External Cargo (HEC) line of equipment. In addition to serving every major OEM, the company heavily targets helicopter owners like municipal, fire, search and rescue operators and utility companies. In total, we serve over 1,000 customers around the world.

Onboard Systems is a part of Signia Aerospace, whose brands lead the industry aerospace and aviation industry in performance and quality.

Onboard Systems International has immediate full-time openings for a Mechanical Assembly Technician and a Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) technician. In these job, you will support the production team by primarily working in mechanical assembly or as a part of our maintenance, repair and overhaul department. You will be assembling, tearing down, and rebuilding mechanical aerospace components per drawing and documentation requirements. This is a physical role requiring gross and fine motor skill aptitude. You will use hand tools to assemble and measure our products including cargo hooks and their components. You will be required to follow written plans and blueprints.

Qualified applicants are required to pass a pre-employment drug screen. s an MRO tech, approximately 6 months after being hired, you may be subject to FAA drug testing regulations if you join our repair roster, which includes random drug screen for federally banned substances including marijuana.

This position is for day shift, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:

  • Assemble or repair mechanical aerospace components per drawing & documentation requirements
  • Conduct testing & troubleshooting of finished goods
  • Potential to perform bead-blasting or other secondary processes of CNC components as Needed
  • Disassemble, clean, and inspect components for repair.
  • Assist in the shipping department by shipping our products internationally while following regulatory requirements
  • Support the QC team by inspecting products and their parts; using basic hand tools
  • Operating the computerized parts pulling machine

Requirements

Minimum 1 year of experience performing similar work ins assembly, WC, Shipping/receiving or quality is required.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Proficiency working with, and following, build instructions, plans, and drawings
  • High attention to detail
  • Basic Mechanical Skills

BONUS SKILLS:

  • Soldering skills
  • Experience in international shipping
  • Experience with inspection and honing of tight tolerance bores.
  • Maintenance Repair Organization (MRO) Experience a Plus

Salary: $20-$24/hr; Benefits package includes medical, dental, vision insurance, 401K with company match, vacation & holiday pay.
