What You Will Be Doing: We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who is responsible for engineering consultation, coordination, modeling, and design documentation in a design/build delivery. The position will be adaptable to a variety of commercial markets, and design delivery styles, and eager to take on new challenges. Top 3 things to deliver to be an All-Star Player: Deliver high-quality designs that are fully coordinated, free of errors, and on time Experience utilizing Revit to deliver engineering design documentation Eagerness to learn and train for engineering proficiency This position works closely with business development, estimators, project managers, supply chain, vendors, and other operating groups on stand-alone and integrated projects. HVAC Design Engineers are accountable for the following: Assist in engineering design direction from project conception to completion Complete code-required energy compliance and LEED documentation Conduct engineering calculations, specification, selection, and layout of HVAC systems Manage time to meet project schedules and task deadlines Understanding of HVAC systems including Variable Air Volume Dedicated Outside Air Hydronic Systems Design of HVAC systems utilizing the latest modeling software Effectively and professionally communicate with project team members, customers, and vendors Answer design and installation questions with Project Management, Construction and Service departments, Controls, and other teams Visit job sites Perform additional tasks or projects as assigned Provide coordination and develop Plumbing knowledge What You Need To Be Part Of Our All-Star Team: Ability to develop and maintain work in Healthcare facilities Commitment to meeting design deadlines on time and error-free Strong oral and written communication skills Self-starter, motivated, and takes initiative Organized and productive Ability to maintain proactive, collaborative, and professional relationships Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and projects at hand Energetic and eager to prioritize workload and tackle new projects and ideas Must have a valid driver's license Ability to work overtime as needed Education/Experience: 5 plus years of mechanical HVAC & plumbing design experience A track record of performing design, calculations, equipment selection, and layout of mechanical HVAC systems Developed an understanding of Engineering fundamentals Experience leveraging Revit & Bluebeam Revu software Working knowledge of industry building codes, standards, and LEED Fully proficient in Microsoft Office Familiar with COVETOOL (or similar) load calculation software PE is preferred not required LEED accreditation is a plus Physical Requirements May regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision and Distance vision While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to walk and sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl (for purposes of assisting with project job walks and site inspections) The employee is occasionally required to reach above shoulder height to access storage cabinets and shelves Salary Range - $45-$60 per hour DOE, FLSA non-exempt (OT eligible) Annual Discretionary Performance Bonus Profit Sharing Medical/Vision/Rx – Dental/Ortho - for employee and dependents - JH Kelly pays 87.5% of total premiums. Paid time off (PTO model) and Holidays 401k - 50% company match
