Mechanical Designer

Position Summary:

Collaborates with peer engineering teams, manufacturing, suppliers and customers to drive product designs across all phases of the product life cycle.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operates SolidWorks Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to produce new and update existing production-ready drawings and 3D models.
• Works with internal and external customers to ensure designs meet manufacturability, service and customer requirements.
• Actively contributes to problem solving and continuous improvement activities for both development projects and mature products.
• Interacts with suppliers to understand processes/capabilities, and requirements and troubleshooting.
• Executes core duties and responsibilities of the role in accordance with the established skills competencies.
• All other duties, as assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Certificate in CAD Design. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
• 1 to 3 years of work experience developing new product designs in similar industry is preferred. Experience in the medical device manufacturing industry is preferred.
• Intermediate computer competency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Basic computer competency with mechanical engineering CAD tools is required.
• Basic computer competency with business specific software (e.g. ERP, eQMS) is preferred.
