Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with proven experience in the mining industry and strong bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish). Key Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and optimize mechanical components and systems for heavy mining equipment (haul trucks, excavators, drilling systems, etc.).

• Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of machinery at client sites.

• Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and hydraulic issues in mining environments.

• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards across all operations.

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams (engineering, service, operations) in both English and Spanish.

• Provide technical training and support for equipment operators and maintenance teams.

• Prepare technical reports, manuals, and presentations for internal and client use.

• Lead or contribute to projects for equipment upgrades, modifications, and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering (Masters a plus).

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in the mining industry or with heavy equipment manufacturers/suppliers.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial machinery.

• Proficiency in English and Spanish (technical vocabulary in both required).

• Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD/design software.

• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to work in mining environments, with flexibility for travel and field assignments.

Preferred Background

• Experience with companies in heavy equipment manufacturing (e.g., Komatsu, Caterpillar, Liebherr, Hitachi).

• Familiarity with open-pit and underground mining operations.

• Hands-on involvement with fleet management systems and advanced mining technologies.
