Job Description - Mechanical Engineer


The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, and supporting the development of aerospace components and systems to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. This role works closely with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, quality, and testing to bring products from concept through production while driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities



  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems for aerospace applications

  • Perform engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, and vibration analysis, to validate designs

  • Create and review 3D models, detailed drawings, and technical specifications

  • Support new product development from concept through testing and production

  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability and assembly

  • Troubleshoot design and performance issues and implement corrective actions

  • Conduct testing, validation, and verification activities to ensure compliance with requirements

  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation, including reports, drawings, and change records

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance and reliability

  • Ensure compliance with aerospace standards, regulations, and quality requirements

Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

  • Previous experience in the aerospace or high-performance engineering industry preferred

  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering analysis

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar)

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment

Preferred Skills



  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and simulation tools

  • Familiarity with aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100) and regulatory requirements

  • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and precision machining

  • Experience with testing, validation, and qualification processes

  • Strong attention to detail and documentation practices



Work Environment



This position involves a combination of office and lab or production floor work. The Mechanical Engineer should be comfortable working in a regulated aerospace environment and supporting hands-on testing and validation activities when required.
