Job Description - Mechanical Engineer 2

## The group you\u2019ll be a part of\n\nYou\u2019ll be joining the WETS Product Group, a highly collaborative, cross\u2011disciplinary organization within Lam\u2019s Global Products Group (GPG), focused on delivering industry\u2011leading wet processing solutions for advanced semiconductor manufacturing. The WETS organization develops liquid\u2011based process equipment supporting both wafer and panel\u2011level applications, with strong emphasis on new product introduction (NPI), technology differentiation, legacy system support, and manufacturing scalability. Our teams work closely across mechanical, electrical, controls, software, systems, and process engineering\u2014partnering globally to bring complex, high\u2011performance tools from concept through production while meeting aggressive cost, schedule, and quality targets. \n\n## The impact you\u2019ll make\n\nAs a Mechanical Engineer 2 in the WETS Product Group, you will contribute directly to the design, development, and delivery of next\u2011generation wet processing equipment for advanced semiconductor manufacturing. Your work will support critical NPI programs, shaping mechanical designs that meet performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability goals. In this role, you will translate subsystem requirements into robust mechanical solutions, working closely with Systems, Process, Electrical, Controls, and Manufacturing Engineering partners. Your contributions will help reduce development risk, accelerate schedules, and enable high\u2011quality products to reach customers on time. This is an execution\u2011focused role with meaningful ownership, where strong fundamentals and good engineering judgment make a visible impact on product success.\n\n## What you\u2019ll do\n\n * Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and subsystems for complex semiconductor manufacturing equipment.\n * Translate subsystem\u2011level requirements into detailed mechanical designs, layouts, and drawings.\n * Create and maintain 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and engineering documentation in accordance with Lam standards.\n * Perform engineering analysis (e.g., tolerance analysis, thermal\u2011mechanical considerations, structural integrity) to support design decisions.\n * Collaborate with cross\u2011functional teams including Systems, Process, Electrical, Controls, Software, and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure successful subsystem integration.\n * Support NPI phase\u2011gate activities (Pre\u2011DR, DDR, CDR, FDR) by delivering assigned mechanical design milestones on schedule.\n * Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and failure analysis, contributing to DFMEA and corrective action efforts.\n * Work with Manufacturing Engineering and Supply Chain partners to ensure designs are manufacturable, serviceable, and cost\u2011effective.\n * Support prototype build, system integration, debug, and validation activities.\n * Contribute to sustaining engineering efforts and field issue resolution as needed.\n\n\n\n## Who we\u2019re looking for\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 2+ years of experience; or an advanced degree without previous professional experience; or equivalent experience.\n * Proficient in 3D CAD tools such as Siemens NX and CREO\n * Solid foundation in mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes. \n * Ability to read and interpret system requirements, drawings, and interface documentation.\n * Effective problem\u2011solving skills and attention to detail.\n * Effective written and verbal communication skills.\n * Ability to work productively in a collaborative, fast\u2011paced, NPI environment.\n * Strong hands-on mechanical skills, able to effectively use basic hand tools and diagnostic equipment (such as a DVM, calipers, dial indicators, etc)\n * This is a graduate eligible role.\n\n\n\n## Preferred qualifications\n\n * Experience in Semiconductor industry is a plus.\n * Experience in project management, or problem solving while managing time and multiple priorities.\n * Knowledge of DFx principles (reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, safety).\n * Interest in technical growth toward senior engineering roles. \n\n\n\n## Our commitment\n\n \n\nWe believe it is important for every person to feel valued, included, and empowered to achieve their full potential.
