Job Description - Mechanical Engineer - Advanced RF Power Systems

Role: Mechanical Engineer – Advanced RF Power Systems

Location: Seattle, WA

Shift: Day

Salary: $70,000 - $115,000/yr DOE/GEO**

Eagle Harbor Technologies (EHT) is pioneering novel RF generator power systems, delivering enhanced capabilities to the semiconductor industry. We’re looking for ambitious, intelligent, and visionary individuals who thrive in competitive environments, and want to help us achieve our bold, transformative goals.

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in the design and development of advanced RF power generators for semiconductor manufacturing applications. In this role, you will contribute to the creation of high-performance electrical and mechanical components and assemblies, leveraging your experience with Siemens NX and SolidWorks to produce robust, manufacturable designs. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into complex electro-mechanical products. This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced engineering environment where innovation, technical rigor, and continuous improvement are highly valued.

Export Control Requirement:

Due to applicable export control laws and other regulations, policies and projects, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder).

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the design, development, and validation of mechanical components, high voltage structures, and assemblies for advanced RF power generators used in semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

  • Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and drawings using Siemens NX and SolidWorks, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and manufacturing requirements.

  • Perform thermal, structural, and vibration analyses (analytical or simulation based) to ensure robust performance of high power RF systems.

  • Collaborate closely with electrical, RF, and manufacturing engineering teams to integrate mechanical designs into complex electromechanical systems.

  • Drive continuous improvement efforts for mechanical designs with a focus on reliability, manufacturability, thermal efficiency, and cost reduction.

  • Develop engineering documentation, including BOMs, test specifications, ECOs, and assembly instructions.

  • Support prototype builds, execute mechanical tests, and analyze test data to validate design performance.

  • Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to resolve technical issues and ensure quality and consistency in production.

  • Participate in design reviews, present technical findings, and contribute to design verification planning.

About This Team:

Our mechanical engineering team brings the efforts of cross-functional teams together into a visualized and ready-to-build product. Subsystem integration into a final complete working product with a large matrix of complex specifications and design challenges is the norm.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • 3+ years of mechanical design experience in a product development or manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency with Siemens NX and SolidWorks for part modeling, assemblies, and detailed drawings.

  • Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including materials, heat transfer, fluid flow, tolerance analysis, and structural mechanics.

  • Experience reading and creating engineering drawings and applying GD&T principles.

  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to analyze test results and propose design improvements.

  • Effective communication and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate cross functionally.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on High Voltage and/or RF power electronics, semiconductor capital equipment, vacuum systems, or high power thermal management systems.

  • Familiarity with thermal management techniques (heat sinks, airflow design, liquid cooling, etc.) in high power or high density systems.

  • Knowledge of DFM/DFT, design for reliability, and manufacturing processes such as sheet metal, machined parts, plastics, and brazed assemblies.

  • Hands-on experience with prototype assembly, lab test equipment, validation, and root cause analysis.

  • Working knowledge of FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, Simcenter, SolidWorks Simulation) for thermal and structural analysis.

  • Experience with PLM/PDM/BOM systems (Teamcenter, OpenBOM or similar).

  • Ability to work in fast paced, iterative development cycles within cross disciplinary engineering teams.
