Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Mechanical Engineer – Level 1 or Level 2 to join our team in Linthicum, MD. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.
The ideal candidate will support development, design, fabrication, and test of various space sensor hardware work products across different program efforts. The qualified candidate will work with a diverse and talented team of engineers developing innovative and cost-effective systems that support a broad range of products and business areas across the lifecycle of a program. The candidate will support the design of space hardware and specifically support the mechanical development RF and EO Sensor Assemblies and Structures. The role will also provide an opportunity to be involved with designs from concept review all the way through to integration, test, and delivery.
A candidate applying to the position would benefit from having prior experience supporting space mechanical designs, designing for the consideration of RF and EO space environments, and consideration for design aspects of both active and passive arrays. This position will report to the Sub-Assembly and Structures Design manager of the Mechanical Systems Technology Department within Hardware Engineering. Minimal travel is expected.
This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

Primary Level Salary Range: $72,700.00 - $109,100.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $87,600.00 - $131,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
