Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nNorthrop Grumman is seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join our Defense Systems team supporting the U.S. Air Force Sentinel program. The applicant will be responsible for the design, development, production, and deployment of launch equipment hardware and systems for each weapons system facility. Working in a dynamic, people-focused environment, the engineer will collaborate closely with users, customers, and fellow engineers to deliver high performance mechanical solutions for the Sentinel program.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n\u2022 Primary role is to serve as a mechanical designer for mechanical systems (mechanisms) design on a major Northrop Grumman Defense Systems program\n\n\u2022 Research, plan, design, and develop mechanical/aerospace products for aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicles, missiles, ground vehicles and associated ground and test equipment\n\n\u2022 Develop CAD models and 3D model based drawings using Siemens NX and Team Center\n\n\u2022 Verify specifications and designs through modeling and simulation, test data processing, and performance analysis\n\n\u2022 Support all phases of the systems lifecycle including design, drawings, fabrication, test, installation, operation and maintenance\n\n\u2022 Design of components/systems, and preliminary/sizing analysis for both stress and dynamic analysis of aerospace structures.\n\n\u2022 Preparation and presentation of reports, briefings, design documents (drawings and specifications) and interface with customers.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 Mechanical Engineer: Bachelor\u2019s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and with 2 years of experience; or Master\u0027s degree with 0 years of experience\n\n\u2022 Principal Mechanical Engineer: Bachelor\u2019s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and with 5 years or experience; or Master\u0027s degree with 3 years of experience\n\n\u2022 Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need\n\n\u2022 2+ years of experience with CAD modeling (Siemens NX preferred)\n\n\u2022 2+ Experience in mechanical engineering that includes a background in mechanical systems (mechanisms preferred)\n\n\u2022 Familiar with common engineering standards (ISO, ASME, Mil Spec, NAS, etc.)\n\n\u2022 Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision, function in a dynamic environment, and be flexible to changing direction\n\n\u2022 Proficient written and verbal communication skills when conveying technical content\n\n\u2022 Knowledge of GD\u0026T, materials selection, and manufacturing processes\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 Experience with Team Center (CPLM) and the Product Definition Package (PDP) release process\n\n\u2022 Experience with the ASME Y14.X suite of engineering drawing standards\n\n\u2022 Experience with requirements management and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) principles\n\n\u2022 Experience with ICBMs or launch equipment systems\n\n\u2022 Experience performing dynamic and static analysis (NX Motion or ANSYS preferred)\n\n\u2022 Proficiency in DOORS, CAMEO, Jira and Confluence\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $108,100.00\n\nSecondary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
