Mechanical Engineering Manager 2

Responsibilities include leading a diverse team of engineers in design, development, test, delivery and support of mission critical warfighter systems. Provide project and technical oversight of design activities performed by the group Prepare cost estimates, provide proposal inputs, and review proposal content for both internal and external customers Increasing design engineering competencies through employee development and strategic hiring Balancing employee needs with business goals Provide ownership of and direction to the design processes used in the group Basic understanding of the Design, Manufacturing and Test Integration process Support department initiatives, forecasting and recruiting, technology roadmap creation, and champion continuous process improvements Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 8 years of engineering experience; OR a Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 6 years of engineering experience; OR a PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 4 years of engineering experience US Citizenship, with the ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance. Strong fundamentals in Mechanical Design Engineering Production issues resolution Strong leadership qualities, including excellent communication and collaboration, team engagement, and organizational skills. Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering Experience as a IPT Lead, SEIT Lead, Chief Engineer or other demonstrated engineering leadership role related to program execution Understanding of electronic power and control system principals of operation and design Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), requirements development, or technical project management experience preferred Understanding and knowledge of Agile (SCRUM) techniques and activities. Knowledge of Design Engineering processes, procedures and work instructions required to support both management and engineering tasks Secret clearance NGFeaturedJobs Primary Level Salary Range: $139,800.00 - $209,800.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
