Mechanical Supervisor

Basic Job Functions:

The role of the Maintenance Supervisor is to create an environment where the team will succeed. This includes actively engaging maintenance, operations, engineering, and contractor teammates while leading them to excellence in the areas of safety, quality, cost, profitability, and productivity. The maintenance supervisor must contribute as a part of the team that will create the long term vision for the maintenance organization and to be able to effectively communicate this message, motivate and inspire the team to achieve the desired results, and grow the capabilities and talents of the group. Safety is the most important value at Nucor and all of our leaders must uphold all policies and procedures, as well as innovatively lead our teams to achieve world class safety performance. This role will ultimately be focused on either the Furnace or Caster area.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of five years of mechanical maintenance or engineering experience


• Minimum of one year of leadership experience in maintenance or operations

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Four-year college degree or other education, training, and certification that indicates technical competency.
•    Three to five years of prior leadership experience in operations or maintenance.
•    Willingness to relocate for future opportunities.
