Position Summary 

Lincoln Electric Products Co Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Switchboard Assembler to join its dynamic team. This role is available immediately and provides a great growth opportunity for the right candidate. A switchboard assembler - mechanical is responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical components of switchgear systems. Refers to a combination of electrical disconnect switches, fuses, or circuit breakers used to control, protect, and isolate electrical equipment.

It is a full-time, non-exempt position and candidate will be reporting directly to the Operations Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assembling Switchgear: The primary responsibility of a Switchgear Assembler - Mechanical is to assemble mechanical components of switchgear systems based on engineering specifications and electrical drawings. This includes assembling circuit breakers, disconnect switches, control panels, bus bars, and other mechanical parts.
  • Installation and Mounting: The switchgear assembler is responsible for the proper installation and mounting of switchgear components in electrical panels. They ensure that all mechanical parts are securely attached and aligned according to the specified guidelines.
  • Quality Control: The switchgear assembler - mechanical conducts quality control checks to ensure that all assembled components meet the required standards and specifications. They perform inspections, tests, and measurements to verify the functionality, alignment, and proper installation of mechanical parts.
  • Safety and Compliance: The switchgear assembler adheres to safety procedures and regulations while working with electrical components. They follow safety guidelines, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean and organized work area to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries.
  • Documentation: The switchgear assembler - mechanical adheres to the Standard Work Instructions provided by company to perform job safely and effectively, including assembly procedures and QC Processes.
  • Collaboration: Switchgear assemblers often collaborate with electrical engineers, technicians, and other team members to ensure smooth assembly and installation processes.

Requirements

  • Some experience in assembly of custom products and ability to read and interpret drawings/blueprints.
  • Ability to use handheld power tools like impact guns etc.
  • Ability to use tape measure and verify if parts are manufactured per blueprints.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on quality and efficiency.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical Demands:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift 70+ pounds.
  • Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced production environment.

Education: • High School Diploma Required
